Søren Aalto designs light for buildings, civic spaces, and the people who use them at night.

Aalto Lysværk designs light as a public material. It works with darkness, conservation, movement, and time, so buildings can be understood after daylight has left them.

The studio works with architects, institutions, city teams, and private clients who need light to be exact rather than spectacular. Each project begins with the hours of use, the surfaces that matter, and the people who must maintain the result.

Drawings are kept spare. Mock-ups are preferred. A project is complete when the lighting feels inevitable, the controls are clear, and the room can hold both attention and ordinary use.
